Matte, velvety lips ? Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms - swatches

Last Autumn when I was in Italy I was happy to discover the Revlon shops. I have to admit I wasn't really into Revlon before, I knew of course about the Colourstay foundation and I liked their nail polishes but that was it.

Having heard about these matte lip balms from one of my faves from Youtube MissBudgetBeauty from UK, I was really excited to see them in store. I swatched them on site and I was hooked! I couldn't leave only with Unapologetic .. so I bought three more. So here they are: the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms !

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm offers velvety color with balm-like moisture. Infused with a triple butter complex of shea, mango and coconut butter. This retractable chubby crayon requires no sharpener.

This innovative chubby lip pencil takes your look from day to night with this velvety matte finish, infused with balm like moisture. This on trend finish comes in 10 shades to take your look from soft and pretty to bold and glamorous. Velvety matte finish.
   
I bought four of them : the now-famous Unapologetic (wanted it from hearing MissBudgetBeauty praising it all the time), Elusive, Audacious and Michevous. 

    How to Use:

Step 1: Apply ColorBurst Matte Balm evenly to clean, bare lips. Build color and coverage as desired.
Step 2: Reapply as desired for moisturizing shine throughout the day.

   
They have a lovely, pleasant texture, applying easily on the lips. They are quite opaque, they can provide a great pigmentation in one layer; if you want a bolder, stronger colour you can add another one. They have a nice minty taste, not very strong, which I like.

 They are quite hydrating for me (in the sunlight you can see their balmy texture see above) but in the case of the less coloured pastely ones (here Mischevous especially and sometimes Elusive), they can show every lip imperfection, so you have to have the lips well exfoliated and hydrated to look good with them on.

    
I really like that the chubby lip pencils are retractable therefore do not require a special sharpener and are easy to use and travel with. You can see pictures and swatches with each one of them separately :

All in all, I have to admit I really love the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms! They are a mix between a lip balm and a lipstick, they provide hydration and colour at the same time in a compact and travel-friendly format.
